Normally I skip the damn commercials that can be skipped on youtube but this caught my eye, it was different from the norm and I had to without a doubt watch it. Well done Commercial well done you caught my attention. That was a commercial that served its purpose it caught my attention hence why I am talking about it. As a creator that what you are suppose to do create something that will wow someone, capture them in your gaze and then karate chop to the throat.

This is a beautiful short film with a huge team of talented individuals that seem to break the Bill Plimpton’s rule of short, funny and cheap. In a case such as this the mold is to use technology to the fullest and try to make something that is simply awe inspiring along with being meaningful.

SYNOPSIS
Through the eyes of a young girl suffering from mental illness, CALDERA glimpses into a world of psychosis and explores a world of ambiguous reality and the nature of life and death.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
CALDERA is inspired by my father’s struggle with schizoaffective disorder. In states of delusion, my father has danced on the rings of Saturn, spoken with angels, and fled from his demons. He has lived both a fantastical and haunting life, but one that’s invisible to the most of us. In our differing understanding of reality, we blindly mandate his medication, assimilate him to our marginalizing culture, and entirely misinterpret him for all he is worth. CALDERA aims to not only venerate my father, but all brilliant minds forged in the haunted depths of psychosis.
