So I watched the first episode of House of Cards and best home for a show of magnitude and character was Netflix. Unfortunately today with so many channels and methods of filling your viewing needs, it would have failed on regular tv, that model just did not fit the mold of “House of cards”. It was a show that needed to be released in one shot. For example one shot movies. Everything is contained in that single hour, two hour or how ever long the movie happens to be. Actually that was not a good example, lets see if I can do better than that. Ok here we go, in the case of “House of Cards”, due to the pacing and the way individuals watch tv and the mere fact that there are many avenue you have to give them the power of right now access as Kevin Spacey stated in his talk regarding his distaste of the tv model.

With the limited scope and mind of people of today it would have failed on regular tv but on netflix where everything was released in one shot this was Simply Brilliant. The netflix/hulu type of instant ondemand is the new tv method hence why cable companies are realizing they have to partner with these companies else the only use they will serve is to provide the highway for the streaming traffic.
