So I went in on a game from a indy game studio from my mother land it was called Jump Rastaman Jump.
Here is my message to the developer-
“Ok here I go and I will keep it very professional. Note these are all questions you must pose to yourself when you create any thing the “BIG WHYS”. Why did you choose a platform style game? What is the purpose of rocks and a boxes in this model of a game? Why choose a Rasta and please don’t state because this is a Jamaican game. What is the story behind the game? Is there a story behind the game, note not all games require a story. Games essentially don’t require a story. Why use 3d characters, I do notice from your facebook page you create a varied skill level of 3d models. The music is very playful, but also do play test to ensure that the music is not too distracting or annoying. Does the music work well for the game. In this case I will give it a pass, all great a music that loops well. A game is also an interactive work of art not just number and logic so remember everything counts, music, gameplay, the look of the game design. Here is just a quick thing to note don’t look at how the big games work as you are not there yet look at indy games and see what makes some of those games work, as there are many indy gems that blow current games out of the water. An indy game that I love is Super meat boy. Check out the simple flash version or even alien homid. The reason why I am point to these games rather than main stream because these were done by 2 or one man teams, not a huge group. Even my game BOrn FIghters was done entirely by me it was a simple test there are thing in there that I know now and have helped in my knowledge going forward. So keep your eyes going forward keep working and thanks for sharing your product we want to see some really interesting things from inslandinteractive. Hopefully I was not too harsh if I was please let me know as sometimes I do come off as such.”
