REALTALK!!–How do you define Success, what states you made it?

leonardo

We all dream big and we all have goals in life as to what we want to obtain. The question is how hard are we working to make it there also what hurdles or setback we had to endure in that process. I have had the privileged to met and mentored with many talented individuals on my journey. Even the slight detours have helped in molding my character. I have gained wisdom from my experience and have since evolved. Life is a journey and process and the choices we make determine where or how we will end up. I can clearly say if I had it easy I would have been a serious asshole knowing the kind of person I am. The fact that I had to settle with certain things and then eventually level up made me the humble individual I am and thus created the person anyone can trust with their lives until you attempt to stab me in the back then I can be your worst nightmare, hey I am only human but beyond that I quest in life changed from when I was a mere child to what I am now as an adult and in so doing shaped my destiny whatever that may end up being.

In the interim I watched and read a profound article on the idea that we rush to gate too quickly sometimes and don’t sit to think about the build up. In reality it does matter to this generation I exist within as we look towards the younger entrepreneurs that are making it before they hit 30. Everyone wants to be rich and famous and retire from the everyday work. It’s a dream I don’t quite share as there is always something to do.

“Success, like money, is one of those slippery treasures that squeezes out of our grasp and lands just out of reach — over and over again throughout a lifetime.”
“That definition of success doesn’t preclude other definitions, of course. In fact, I suspect that those who enjoy creation for creation’s sake probably also enjoy a good deal of “traditional” success. They just don’t define themselves by it.”

REALTALK!!– LIFE AFTER PI (Official) VFX

life-after-pi

As a fellow VFX animator, artist and designer I feel it for these studios that take a hit. As the founders of Rhythm and Hues stated they existed for 25 years before having to close their doors and that is an achievement in itself. Running a company is no easy walk in the park especially a creative venture. From my understanding a creative venture is easier to start but harder to maintain unlike a technology based business which is normally the reverse. It’s hard to start but once the traction is in place it could run almost forever, you simply have to keep on innovating else you will to another who comes with a better innovation. I could go on and on but this post is about Rhythm and Hues and the world of VFX so sit and enjoy.
