Have not read the article as yet but just from the meer notion or thought my conclusion would be that many think it impossible or outside their scope. Another possible reason is because we have become complaisant and accepting of the advances in technology and the design schematics of the world.

Not much of an indy production, just one beautiful production by one of my all time favorite Japanese game companies for beautiful looking games, not great game play anymore. Final Fantasy has been a pinnacle of work from square or better named Square-enix and from what I can see this is a beautiful looking game as always all they have to do now is make something that works.
