Deadly Class hmmm Dayum!!

So where do we start Deadly class is a series on the Syfy network, the series is also based on a comic of the same name. It seems alot of comics are being turned into live action series, sadly I have not read the comics which I believe is a good thing as I am super critical when a book or comic is adapted and key things that made the book shine are omitted for the sake of creating a more cohesive story for a viewer.

The series seem to jump right in and bring you into the fold of this mishap of characters who from the onset seem atypical, there are members from a cartel family, they have white supremacist, some black street thugs, the Yakuzas, the Triads and other various crime syndicates which I won’t get into. The group is headed up by Benedict Wong that you have seen in countless movies.

The series does seem as though it will have a solid start but I am unsure how it will survive as there are countless shows out there but I am extremely hopeful. Not much to really say until they wrap season one but so far I am intrigued and would like to see where they go.

DAYUM!!! DRAGON BALL SUPER BROLY!!!-WATCHED

Wow, so I am a old school Dragonball fan before it became wide stream on Toonami, I visited ChinaTown N.Y Weekly with my comrades to get my imported bootleg anime and asia flicks. So Dragonball was one of many flick I saw before they came to the states. So enough of the memory lane lets get into the meat. Dragonball Super Broly much like the recent 2 movies is a canon film that is bringing Broly into the canon DB universe, thanks to the introduction of his female counter part Caulifla. Broly’s origin story has changed alot removing his hatred of Goku and the whole one liner Kakarotto, the hatred shifted entirely to Vegitta as Vegitta father exile Broly to a planet, which I won’t go too much into, when you watch the film you will gain the full details. Missed will be some of the craziness and humour of the original which had Future-Trunks Krillin, Piccolo, Gohan, Master Roshi and I believe Oolong. This film was all about fan service and insane beat down. Broly 2.0 was not simply a killing machine he was simply an enforcer with some level of empathy, love and respect for his father.

Now to the art, visuals, fights and dragon ball madness. The art is beautiful and well done, the animation is top notch, the colors smack you in the face with such splendor and brilliance. They really went all in with the craziness, even Gojitta makes an appearance and the insanity goes even more insane. The fights felt like they dragged on for ever. Even though the animation and fights were well done, I can clearly state that the original Broly made you feel the beating that Goku and his crew took from Broly considering that they were severely under powered when they met him. In this new film their power dwarf his until he gets a power boost.

Now for that power scaling where do I begin, they lost me at that point, the power scaling made no damn sense anymore, they kept ramping and scaling and it was just insane. With the original you understood the power scaling and where the heroes stood no chance. You sort of knew where certain heroes stood in terms of being able to go foot to foot with who. For example in the first Kooler film Goku took a near fatal attack because he failed to go super Saiyan right away when facing Kooler. The same can be said about the first Broly where they clearly did not understand how powerful Broly happened to be. In the new Film We have Goku and Vegitta ramping up to face off against someone who they clearly dominate but his power scales as well but to match their God form wait a sec do you realize how power these guys are. I will leave it at that.

Sadly I went to the theater with the intention of seeing madness anyway and I was well satisfied. Before I move on, if you are able to watch this in a theatre before it heads to digital media please do so. The fan service was all over the place and the jokes were definitely old school dragon ball humor. If you could see it in the theatre please do if not get a 70inch set and watch this film. Please don’t see a dragonball movie and expect it to make sense or change your world, this film is just about some dude beating the shit out of each other and loving it.

That’s all I will add loved the film.
