DAYUM!!! PEACEKEEPER SERIES!! HOLY COW!

Wow just wow, this series was a wild, crazy and amazing ride, John Cena really is a talented actor. I recently saw him in a film called vacation friends and all I can say was I laughed extremely hard. John Cena’s character is called the Peacekeeper much like the name of the series. His character was based on same character played in the Suicide Squad film of 2021. Similarly to the film his character is a vigilante but unlike the film he is simply trying to redeem and find himself. More which I will get into later. Due to my lack of knowledge of the peacekeeper’s back story I felt more intrigued to find out more about this character and was alarming more glued to the episodic journey. The cast was an interesting mix of film and tv legends and some new faces. Each was able to carry their own weight but sadly I have to say John Cena was front and center and simply shone brightly as Peacekeeper. From episode one to the finale I was at the edge of my seat just hoping they complete this season on the highest note and they delivered.

In this series the peacekeeper is simply trying to redeem himself after killing Rick Flag along with battling his other many demons that come in the form of his brother and father. Aside from that he is a womanizer among many things but has a big heart for his new team and simply tries his best to do what he feels is right and true, can you even believe he is a bit hesitant to kill, just a little bit. Either way as mentioned this is simply a joy ride. Strap in as this is a one way trip through mayhem and awesomeness.

DAYUM!! MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE Not a bad series after all.

So allow me to state there may be spoilers. Now let us begin.
Earlier this summer (July 2021) “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” a Netflix revisit to “He-man and The master of the universe” series was released. It was released in two parts, part one was released to mixed reviews and the part two was released November 2021 which had a better reception. Both halves had their own significance and after seeing the whole series as a whole I give props to the steps the creators went to make this series.

Firstly lets start of with this is not the 80s he-man meaning this is not a kids cartoon, characters died and there are severe consequences to actions. This is a more mature he-man series and that being the case liberties were taken with characters within this universe. Looking back at this series I wonder, why did I enjoy this series and had to laugh at the characters as some simply made no sense especially some of the vehicles and abilities. As children we simply had no clue and enjoyed whatever was on especially since we had little choices.

One thing I was surprised is that many forgot that there was another He-man series that came in the early 2002 which had a full season and a half so roughly 26 episodes for season 1 and 13 episodes for season 2. This series followed close to a comic series that I also owned. ” He-Man and the Masters of the Universe[a] is an American-Canadian animated television series. Developed for television by Michael Halperin, who created the original series, it was animated by Mike Young Productions”. This was a great series I actually bought the box set.

In conclusion the “Masters of the Universe is a worthy watch even for this now older fan of the original series. Nostalgia a wonderful thing and sadly that’s what the old series represents. Sometimes they miss the mark with a remake or retelling this certainly gave the original series more substance.
