DAYUM!! Heartbeast Studios #Lecturer “Benjamin Anderson” #heartbeast #uheartbeast

A wonderful lecturer and game designer. Benjamin Anderson pulled me in with his level of knowledge and simply understanding his audience along with vocal projection. He was concise and spoke in the tone which I found to be quite calm and relaxing, there were points where he had a monotone level but trust me I was too awed by the notion this guy was explaining something I wanted to understand in regards to Game Maker Studio. If you are interested in learning game maker studio, which is a wonderful game development tool check out this guy hey has a payed tier or you can check out his youtube videos which are free. If you feel to read my write up further read on. The below was actually written first but it was more me just blabbering on and I felt that should not be what you read first about the Benjamin for more of his work visit the links below. Have fun doing what you do.

Benjamin, where should I start with this talented game developer, gamedesigner, artist and lecturer. Lets start with a thank you. I thank this young man as I venture back into my game development world as without his lecturers on game maker studio I would be quite lost. He made understanding game maker studio quite fun and easier to grasp. How I came across his lectures was via which a friend Kevin(action)Jackson mentioned I should try as they have alot of great courses for cheap. I then saw Ben’s class on Game Maker and it was history at that point. Trying to keep this short so I can get into talking more about Benjamin, I loved the idea of Game Maker Studio but I hated the plug and play way of coding, fortunately Benjamin shared that approach and he wrote in GML Game maker language which was pretty simply my flow. I normally call myself a parttime programmer as I do more technical art related things and well lets not get into that. So back to Benjamin, he is a sure fire talent and is good at his job. My most recent game is based on one of his lessons as I was trying to make a game to work with my animation and here comes a lecture that talked about the very game I wanted to make.

Music is my drug that I will spend money to obtain if the sound is right, I always seek out the most interesting music to help propel my art and the story that I choose to draw, write or direct. I have come across many new composers of music. Today I will share some of the creators I feel worth to get my money, some or many have worked on things I have a connection to from my youth, such as music from a game or animation. Most will be scores so that simply means no vocals or minimal vocals. I may throw in a few with vocals at the end but we shall see. The first I have to point out is the most recent addition to my list is Sam Dillard his website has his collection of awesomeness.
I will simply list the rest with a small reason why i purchased their album with a link to their respective websites.

Bad-Dudes, they created a Chrono Trigger album which sounded awesome, totally sold after that. Nothing else to add well maybe the fact that I saw their music on a retrogame website.

M83 wow, how can I describe this talent, he had all original music which was totally mesmerizing. I found his music by accident nine or so years ago all I know is I had it saved in my youtube favorites and playlist and several years ago I simply wanted to find out who was the artist who did the music. Unfortunately I could not pin point the artist as the music could not be detected by shizaam which was weird either way I was able to track him down the song in question was “Lower your eyelids to die with the sun”-featured in this skateboard vid.. I was totally sold and tracked down all his albums and bought everyone. If you want more on them check here. Oh and he did music for Oblivion

Blake Robinson another talent that blew me away with what he did to the chrono trigger symphony collection. Check out his websites and I was in love when I found his music. Not much else to say on that.

Richie Branson (born Marcus Brown II) His music was a take to a different level and I actually enjoyed it when not working as too much vocals keep mind really busy.

Disasterpiece This creator created some of the music for most of the indy games I love Hyper Light Drifter to name a few. Check him out.

The last I will mention is Fela Kuti, I came across Fela’s music through Pandora and I was not aware of this Man. Once I did my research I realized he was an amazing dude with many faults. I won’t get into much detail if you need more simply read up here.

These clusters are ones that I could relax to, MGMT, Lumineers,Jonsi,Devotchka, The Neighbourhood and Of monsters and men. there are many more but these are the ones I can go back to and get some meaningful work plus they are less known well except for the Lumineers I am not sure how well know is MGMT.

Notable mentions
Clint Mansell– The Fountain OST
Florence and the Machines
Imagine Dragons
